Yair Engel, designer, expert, and consultant in sustainable innovation and entrepreneurship, Cradle to Cradle and Circular Economy. A leading figure and change agent, Yair has been promoting sustainable design amongst industrials, entrepreneurs, government offices and academic institutions in Israel and in Europe.
In 2002, he founded Kayama – the Center for Sustainable Design in Israel and is the representative of EPEA- Cradle to Cradle in Israel since 2009. Yair is a fellow of the Heschel Center for Sustainability and a certified Cradle to Cradle design consultant. He serves as a committee member of the Green Label Council of the Israel Standards Institute.
International speaker, he is lecturing and teaching design for sustainability, Cradle to Cradle and Circular Economy in major universities, design colleges, and high schools’ excellence programs. Yair serves as a mentor in several innovation hubs and startup accelerators including TheHive by Gvahim, leading the Green and Circular Economy tracks.
Finally, Yair is the local partner and trainer of SwitchMed, a joint program of EU and UN, in which framework he organized a Synergy Workshop on “Green Entrepreneurship for a Circular Economy”, published a whitepaper on Green Entrepreneurship in Israel and created “The Green Pitch” training and events.
